The latest LACES update includes key changes to support the new program year, expanded compliance, and improved performance across the platform.

Starting August 1, each agency will have a quarterly limit on the number of SMS messages it can send. Your agency’s limit is based on 75% of your Active Student count and resets every quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1, October 1). If your agency reaches its limit, SMS will pause unless additional messages are purchased.

Remember, email messaging remains unlimited.

Assessment Card Editing** (LA-21425)** Override Reasons now display correctly in the edit view of assessments.

Burlington/Essential Education Integration Rules (LA-20169) The integrations have been updated to avoid the potential for hours being duplicated if a student were to be enrolled in multiple Burlington English or Essential Education classes with the same title and dates. If a student is enrolled in a class with the same title and dates, then hours will only be applied to the most recently created enrollment. Cross-Agency Student Portal Application Support (LA-21316)

Added functionality to ensure Student Portal Applications appear in the new agency when a student is brought over from their original agency.

Improved Deduplication (LA-21269) Local agency data is now better included in the deduplication process to avoid accidental duplicates.

PRWORA Compliance (LA-21387) LACES now aligns with Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) requirements.

Import & Assessment Adapter Improvements Technical refinements were made to reduce the chance of runtime errors during assessment imports and integrations.
